CH2M Hill Sustainable Community Award 2009
Dockside Green Phase I- Synergy, Brownfield.  After cleaning up the brownfield site, the developers took an integrated approach to designing the energy, water, sewage and waste management infrastructure to ensure maximum synergy and efficiency. Water is conserved by treating and reusing sewage water for irrigation and toilet flushing. A combination of green roofs, bioswales (landscape elements that remove pollutants from water) and a naturalized creek work to manage stormwater. (Aqua-Tex ecological consultants).
About
  • We design and build projects that are efficient, effective and affordable both for the owner and for the community. Smart development can provide both economic and ecological benefits and can enhance the communities in which we live and work. Our solid understanding of the science of freshwater ecology ensures that our projects go beyond looking green, and function properly in both the short and long-term. We believe in an integrated team approach to sustainable planning and design.
